Here's the week's progress...

Time to start wiring... fan tracks first, then about 100 LED's.

Lee

That's turned out to be a real eye-catcher Lee . Have you thought about a removable corner sceniced shelf to abut with the layout at the turntable outer edge for enhanced photo ops . Could be an interesting article in the mags as well . Could be without tracks , just buildings , shacks , and details . It would add the reason why no aisle facing tracks come off the turntable as well . After the photo shoot it can be stored in a safe place , and you again have Lee way to move down the aisle . As far as the butt crack , could be a major pipe line being installed in a trench with a pipe actually hiding the crack / or over-lapping buildings , brush , and stuff / or even a siding with derelict locos . The list is endless but better to the eye if it is a logical continuation of something 100 feet from a turntable .

I'm trying to get my telephone poles and wires in place..

I also decided I need some staging for this layout.  so a small area added to the back, enough for 4-5 tracks. And I'll have to put loops on the end too..

Bluford Shops ex-EL 70T CR hoppers:

The Kato Penn Central E8 and passenger set:

ExactRail box, Atlas tank, and two BLMA G31B gons:

Plus this weekend's work on the layout my 8-year-old son and I are building together.

Very realistic looking scene, the wires add nicely to the overall run down look
