N Scale Gunderson-GIMSA/Concarril 5188 Cubic Foot Covered Hopper.

Designed from builder blueprints, this exquisite freight features all of the detail you have come to expect from our Rivet Counter line. The model includes three different body styles, two different hatch types, two different outlet gate options, and numerous factory-applied parts. These cars are common in unit grain trains as well as mixed manifest freights and can often be found alongside Trinity 5161cf Covered Hoppers.  Up to 22 road numbers will be available including correct BNSF Heritage Units – BN, Northern Pacific, and Santa Fe.

Beautiful cars. Looks like the street price is near $100 per N scale foot. Might need to add a little variety to my existing 28-car earth worm.

Nice.  An expensive choice for me.

Goodness, I didn't need the temptation on this.  What era are these cars?

Edit: 2007+, I see.  That's definitely late enough to justify passing for me.  Enjoy these guys.

I've been waiting for these. I'm a big earthworm fan and these will add a nice bit of variety to all my Trinity Hoppers.

I am both disappointed and relieved that these are past my 2006 cutoff date.

What I really need are the National Steel Car 5100 cu-ft covered hoppers (UP class CH-100-119) or 5127 cu-ft (UP class CH-100-121) or both.   ;)

Perhaps these old eyes are tired today, but nowhere do I see mention of body mounted couplers, nor for that matter metal wheels...

Methinks my 5161 earthworm (108 cars) may get some company...assuming they will convert to MT TSCs...The couplers look like McHenrys, got an exterior spring...

It's a new day in N scale if we can take body mounted couplers and metal wheels for granted.

The couplers are Scale Trains own design, as has been discussed in other threads.  Don't take it to the bank, but I believe on the turbine they designed the coupler pockets to accept MTs 1015s.

I'm not sure I have ever seen one of these north of the border.  Seems like a great model for production.

Looking at photos on their site, they look to be body mounted and metal wheels.
