If a tree falls in the forest... :P
I think I picked up one freebie at a Timonium show.  I've never seen it on a newsstand, and I don't recall there being much in it that isn't more immediately available on the internet.

C'est la vie!

It had a website, but I could not find out how to subscribe or even get a copy. I have never seen a copy anywhere, so I don't know whether it is a loss or not.

Ted Culotta was supposed to put out something similar. Bought the first issue (very expensive!) and if he's kept it up I don't know where to get it.

RMJ has been on its death bed for years - I don't know if its finally gone or not . . .

Ted published a second issue of his modeling "journal" - it's really more like a soft cover book with "articles" - no ads so it's entirely reader supported. I think he got really busy with his resin car end of the business, so haven't seen much on the publishing front. You can find the issue here -- www.speedwitch.com

They typically had some really great articles on modeling prototypes faithfully but their distribution network wasn't what really was needed to make it successful.  I have only seen two hobby shops that ever carried it, largely because they went through the publisher to get their magazines instead of a local magazine distributor, as do a number of shops.  Then, too, some owners likely didn't feel there was a point to carrying them... heck, I know one local one that doesn't even carry Railfan and Railroad, despite it being a very great magazine, one I would easily buy over Trains magazine any day of the week.

Has anyone actually checked on this with the publisher?  Their delivery has been erratic at best over the years.  I just picked up the June issue a week or so ago at my LHS.

Mainline, Model Railroading, now Railmodel.... its not a good time to be a small RR publisher.

RMJ has been behind on their cover dates for awhile. Mine has been coming regurarly, my June Issue arrived near end of July, all my isssues have come around the last week in the month. No word from them that they have gone Belly Up, but it could be. In February 1995 The Utah N Rail Modelers (now Wasatch N Scale) was the cover story and there was a followup issue with an article by one of our members on layout and scenery construction. The series of articles over the years on Railway Express and its operations by Vic Roseman were wonderful, also protype passenger train modeling fairly reciently on Union Pacific trains. Say it ain't so! Waaaaa .......                                                                           Ntate Goodman (Nato). Salt Lake, Utah.

For all you who visit Kleins, they've been carrying it in their racks ever since I can remember, and each issue has subscription pull outs, so It shouldn't be too hard to subscribe.

Just heard through the grapevine that RMJ, indeed, has ceased publication.  Golden Bell Press is still in business.

RMC will be honoring the outstanding subscriptions.
