Title: Kato production & delivery question
Post by: CBQ Fan on January 07, 2014, 07:09:12 PM
I was noticing on Kato's website that they have delivery for items in back to back months.  1st and 2nd delivery.  anyone who works at shop know what the logic is behind this.  I am just curious.

Because Kato no longer takes pre orders from dealers the second delivery is need to fill orders. Kato only announces a model after production has begun. So after the original run is sold out they have a second if orders still need to be filled. Say Kato stock run is 1000 pieces (i don't know the real number) they give there dealers 2 months to order and first delivery is 3-4 months form the announcement. If they get 1500 orders then a second run is needed and that is what the second delivery is.

Interesting concept.  Amazing what you can do when you control your own production!  Thanks.
