But the highlight of the week was the Conrail Historical Society's Rail B Q up in Marysville.  I was able to grab an old friend and his son for a day trains and good food.

Geeee, no wonder I can't get my membership approved, you guys are too busy working the grill by the tracks every weekend.  Get back to work slackers...  ::) ;D

Been weeding up the spur track. I still need to add some sort bumper at the end.

Envirodude - Wow!  And again, wow!  At first glance, I thought I was looking at a prototype photo.  Very nice!

As for me, I got my hands on another VO-1000, and now have #5918 and #5917.  The new guy definitely needs some breaking in, but he looks like he's going to be as big a success as his sibling.  Here is a shot I took of my shifters.

Unfortunately, I'm going to be off the radar for a few weeks.  I'm in Portland with family, and my train... er... guest room is going to be occupied by various guests for three weeks.  Off the PRR goes to storage in the meantime...

If you've never been to a CRHS RailBQ, you really should come out and see what its all about! Its open to ALL, not just CRHS members and we even welcome those who like odd roads like "western Maryland" and "Pennsylvania".

Guys, I had a blast again this year and the vitamin Y flowerd like water as always! Thanks to all from the RW who attended, and a special thanks to Lee who brought corn on the cob and a watermelon with him!
I hope to see all the old faces and some new faces next year. (First saturday in May!)

Is "The Bacon Explosion" the name of the dish, or the event that occurs 30 minutes after ingesting it???  :-X

While you were all eating heart attacks and watching black and blue trains I enjoyed the beach! ;D
It wasn't a total loss. Sitting in Traffic on New York Avenue in DC 3 GP40-2s and a B23 or B30-7 flew by at 40 with a coal train! Right now I'm waiting for USPS to pay off my insurance claim so I can order 450$ of choo choo stuff from MB Klein. :)

Caleb, you need more layout and less Chessie!
Lee

Well, the battle in my mind over C&O, N&W, NS, CSX or Conrail must be decided someday. Then I'll get a new engine. ;D :P

Caleb,

Sometimes, a pile of ballast or a couple of railroad ties will suffice to prevent rolling stock from running past the end of the track.

Hope this helps,
Dave
