I only did some virtual modeling this week.

2 versions of NS' RP-EC4 slugs. They're designed to fit onto an Atlas GP38.

Nah...you need some hipster high rise, big buck condos and a shopping center with a Target, a Wegmans,  a Starbucks, a P. F. Chang's,  an IMAX multiplex and a Five Below... :D

A good lawyer would sue the squirrel  :P

Dang what sort of wires are those. I'd tell them you'd give them about tree fiddy.

I recently learned about newer cars CAN bus wiring... Left the factory touch screen, but put a different stereo under it. I then hooked up the steering wheel volume controls to the new radio (one single wire). Weeks later I took it to get aligned and got 2 dash lights. Come to find out there is a steering column sensor that lets the car know where the wheels is for the traction control and it needs to be re-zeroed. Well when they plugged it in they got the CAN buss error. So I had to wire a switch to that one wire to toggle from my stereo to old stereo. Who knew.

. . . and you thought DCC was complicated . . . Welcome to the computer-embedded world.

Throttle linkage?  We don't need no stinking throttle linkage in a car - it is fly-by-wire now!  The computer can even modulate the throttle response to what it "thinks" will be the best.  Your foot on the pedal is merely a suggestion of what the engine will do.   :scared:

Remember, even your light bulbs are on the CAN bus!

I feel your pain. Two years ago, a passing roofer noticed my detiorating shingles. He gave me an estimate for $8000 plus.       I smiled and thanked him. I had already received an estimate for $3500 in materials. I spent the savings on a new central air unit. I'm 53. I realize we're not all spring chickens here, and that DIY is not an option for everyone. In my own case, I just couldn't justify the cost of installation, as much as my back wanted me to. Looking back however, I'm glad I did my own roofing.

Whats this got to do with making N scale cattails? Nothin'. Your story earlier, just reminded me about why I have made so little progress on my own layout.

#3 Should be covered by the contractor who broke it if it's broken. But if worse comes to worse it shouldn't cost more than 100 bucks if you have someone do it. If you're feeling up to a little digging parts would only be 10 bucks at most. I do sprinklers for a living and honestly I could tell you what you'd need and how to fix it from just a picture.

I hope you're right about the repair cost.  I just don't have the time (nor the desire) to deal with it, as I'm covering my boss, who has been out of the office for seven weeks due to her immunosupression issues, and we're home schooling my daughter.  I'm sure I could fix a broken pipe with instruction, but I just have enough on my plate as it is.  Yes, arguably, I could give up a couple hours from the train room, but, honestly, this hobby is keeping me sane as an escape from reality.

Thanks,
DFF

CSX might have something close, but I've never looked through their roster of road slugs.

After the luck I've been having lately, I might welcome that:
1) Squirrel ate engine wiring harness in Wife's car while it sat during pandemic: approximately $2,500.00
2) New roof: More than $8,000.00
3) Possible broken water pipe in front yard from truck delivering shingles: $?.??

But, thankfully, my family is still healthy, so I shouldn't complain.

Sucks. We bought a house two years ago and are still fixing things up. This year we get to buy new copper gutters.

Yes my traction control light is one of the lights on. So I searched for what that even is and well come next winter I'm gonna be pretty pissed because when it detects wheel spin and cuts power. Wheel spin is part of how I drive in the winter  :RUEffinKiddingMe: You can shut it off, but next time you get in the car it is back on.

Got off my a$$ after not touching it for a while and started working on the quarry area of my HOn30 layout.
