Continued with another Missoula Structure.  This was part of the old shops that were converted to a Northern Pacific Transport Garage/boiler house/engine room.  You can see it in the background of the first picture.  It was built mostly with Walthers Modulars (RIP).  So much left to do with this one.

Fine n scale Santa Fe 50' wood express reefer. Built in 1924-25. Not a bad little kit. Still lots of work to do.  Still need to add steps and the like and do a little work on the trucks.  I have two of these to put together.

It's mid 2011 and changes are afoot on the Maryland Midland. Evident by the leader on UBST. Wearing the colors of new parent company, Genesse & Wyoming, #2061 (ex MMID 301) leads 302 heading east past the storage siding and lead to Lehigh Cement.

Some very nice prototype structure modelling this week; I look forward to building some one day.

Some farm trucks have been completed for my layout.  These pewter castings from CinC Miniatures are representative of the types of trucks seen at the grain elevators during the 1970s.  Side mirrors had to be added.  The one on the left was patterned on a truck often seen in photographs of Fosters Seed & Feed:

This photograph of my Fosters Seed & Feed shows their truck which also shows up in the reference photograph against the backdrop:

At the other end of Fosters, next to the fertilizer warehouse, a stake bed truck is seen:

I have a newspaper photograph showing a very similar truck in this exact position at the Alberta Wheat Pool:

Last night Op Session #20 was held; the last one for a while due to upcoming travel.  RS-18 607 was assigned to Chetwynd Yard and is seen here pulling cars from the Canfor mill:

RS-3s 567 and 570 arrive at Septimus with tonnage bound for Taylor, Fort St. John and Fort Nelson:

C-425s 804 and 812 switch the elevator track at Dawson Creek:

The westbound Dawson Creek Switcher crosses the Pine River bridge with 17 cars and caboose:

I have built that kit and the brass roofwalk (glued on using CA glue) popped up after some time.  Resin and metal either have different thermal expansion ratio, or resin shrunk slightly (I suspect it is shrinkage because I had some other Fine N Scale resin shrink slightly).

If I were going to build that kit again,. I would mount the roowalk differently. I would solder 3 pieces of thin brass rod shaped like square "C" under the roofwalk (close to the ends and one in the middle). Then I would drill 6 holes in the roof, and thread the brass rod through them bending them out on the inside to retain the roofwalk.  No glue.

Yes, Fine N Scale makes fine kits of unique and otherwise unavailable cars.
Here is one of mine.

Got one side done before my eyes gave out last night; I'll finish the other side today and get the entire car weathered.

I used Walthers Goo so it could flex a little if needed.

Very cool and well done video.  I really enjoyed the part through Rochelle having been at the park watching trains many times.

Same here. It's a treat to see it modeled so well.

Taking a break from my other ongoing projects to do a quickie: assembling the MTL Jimbo crane that came with the tie gons.

It generally went together well. I had to sand a bunch of excess material off the bottom of the body but my power sander made short work of it.

I also lowered the cars (well two of them) with BLMA trucks and body mounted 1023s which sad was all incredibly easy.
