That Stainless Steel EMD 567 probably was from a Bay Class Minesweeper built for the Royal Canadian Navy.  "The Woodpecker Squadron" was built in the 50s in Various Canadian shipyards with wood hulls, aluminum structures, and Stainless Steel EMDs as power.  All so there was no magnetic signatures, to prevent them from "influencing" magnetic mines.

Mike

Close, it was a French minesweeper.

I was mostly busy rearranging my kid's bedrooms and new furniture.   Ikea is a bitch on the back .  :|

I did get a chance to swap out a CN Decoder, after I realized I'd installed the CN-GP in my SD40-2 ;)  Also found some copies of my first published article.  apparently i wanted backup copies??  :D

Andy:  I'm only half joking.  How much would you charge to build me one?  A classic EF-1, just the two cabs, would be enough for my needs.

I started construction on a folding shelf to extend two tracks to improve ops on my layout.  This is the shelf deployed (on a temporary leg):

And, here is the shelf folded down:

So a thing happened yesterday. A big, blue thing was rolled out of the B&O Museum's shop.

I was honored to be part of making it happen.

So of course I had to start on an N scale version.

The LL SW1200 only differs by a missing set of louvers. I'll take that over the wrong cab windows any day.

For some reason the grab irons up the side were in the wrong place too, so those had to go.

Then it was on to the pilot.

And finally the cab.

You can see most of the jewelery except the horns, which I had to fabricobble together.

However, about 2 minutes after taking that photo, the horn and bracket f**ed right off into the great wide yonder never to be seen again. Hence: https://www.therailwire.net/forum/index.php?topic=48257.msg639141#new

Photos don't do it justice. Holy crap was it BLUE.

Like, I remember the color, but I forgot what it looked like new. Holy *****. And yes, the color is 100% correct. It's Dupont Imron "Conrail Blue": the same one Juniata used to order. Ya can't get much more right than that.
