I do not know of any specific commodity, but the P&LE frequently leased out their boxcars.  So theoretically they could haul anything from anywhere depending on who leased them. Just a thought.  Thanks.

He is a something regarding the P&LE leasing out freight cars to other railroads.  You could always put a piece of trim film over the "Return to P&LE" to help justify it being leased out and on your pike.  Thanks.

Hmmm ... for that I have no answer.  I do know that the P&LE cars were built first with roofwalks that were removed fairly quickly.  But I don't know if specific commodities were transported in them or if they were in restrictive service.  It would seem to me that they were used in general service, and that you could utilize them in canned goods service without question.  What goods hypothetically are you moving in your X58 RBLs?

The P&LE Historical Society did an issue of The Little Giant a few years ago on P&LE boxcars.  There is a photo of a P&LE 975B (the X65 car) in Little Rock, Arkansas.  They did roam far and wide.  Thanks.

The patch-outs in this release are X58s.  But there will be X65 patch-outs in future releases, either with the eventual PC and CR release or the release following.  X72 Boxcars next year which will add additional flexibility in production.

I understood there were no patch outs for X65s , I was simply stating I would get some of the LV cars and do one myself!

I can't wait for the PC X65s, I found a great pic of a patched for Conrail , PC green car with the worms logo showing through that I'd like to take a stab at replicating...

Understood.  There will be X65 LV patch-outs down the road, but the nice thing about patch-outs is that they are unique so it's never a problem having multiples as no two look alike.

Makes me wonder if they had something to do with the Heinz plant on the North Side. P&LE didn't directly serve it to my knowledge, but might have been part of an equipment pool...
