Yeah, anymore a basic soldering setup is pretty much required in N since they went back to wired trucks. That's the predicted point of failure, period.
The reason so many of us "dislike" this evolution is we grew up with it in the 70's, Kato killed it, now it's back - the broken wire at the truck pickup. Only takes seconds to fix, but super annoying.
Or find a friend that's comfortable with the fix.
