Looking good Bryan. Very distinctive with the green window band.

Finally got the decoders wired-up to operate the marker lights on my H16-44's tonight. I also painted the markers silver as a light block, then DGLE. Once it was dry, I knocked the paint off of the raised lenses with a jeweler's file to get the effect you see in the photos. Weathering is next, and then couplers!

Walking by this antique gallery in downtown Wenatchee, saw this sign that read McKee's Hobbies, all gauges of model trains.
Ducked in, this is the closest thing to a hobby shop in the small towns I've lived in the past few years. Nothing really I could
use but what a treasure chest. He ran a hobby shop in Spokane and closed it and put everything in this gallery. The Atlas N
building kits, the lumber mill, station, house, all 10 bucks and new in boxes. I expected to see some oldies like the Revell kits.

Nothing horribly exciting this week, just a boring new plywood platform, but what a difference in viewing perspective; I love it!
When designing my double deck layout, I placed the Summit as high as I dared to go, at 65" elevation. It would have been okay for just a mainline, but for a small yard, it turns out it's a bit high for my taste (I'm 6'1), and way too high for some of my shorter friends (most of them are).

So, I decided to build this platform, one step high, of 2x6 lumber and 3/4" plywood...voila, it's just about perfect height for me now (and who cares about my shorter friends) :D
Well, actually, I do, and the raised platform makes the viewing and reach much more comfortable, at about 58 1/2".
This too is model railroading...Carpeting to follow, I think.

I needed to find a use for Keystone Details etched PRR P70 doors, so I stripped an earlier upgrade of a Lima as-built P70, and chose this prototype:

As of yet, I do not know the subclass.  Any help?  The Liljestrand/Sweetland coach book identifies this as a P70fR, but I am pretty sure that is incorrect because the equip. diagram shows the P70fR as having only one vestibule.  This car is a battleship of a coach with the balloon round roof and the unusual FIVE bay ice bunker.

Here is my in-progress model with the Keystone Details doors, PRR Parts ice bunker and other underbody details, American Limited 2D-P5 trucks, Gold Metal Models steps, and a cast resin roof.  Soon to head for the paint shop.

Damn, that coach is awesome.  I nearly reported it to the moderator for being too good.

Received a package today from @Denver Road Doug containing 4 Walthers ballast hoppers.  I reassembled them and got them painted this afternoon.

managed to squeeze in some train time this weekend and build this REA building via the Lee Weldon school of buildings.
I used the textured spray can stuff and then tried to hide the seam between walls with .010" styrene.

The ramp is a laser kit I had and the loading dock is scribed balsa sheeting and then stained.  the supports under the dock is actually trust pieces that i trimmed down

Needs lights and the roof to finish

At the convention in Kansas City I bought a flat car with a cable spool load.  When I got home and looked at it closely, I realized how it was made and fired up the laser and made a load for my dad.

I improved upon the chocking detail.

I cut the deck too.
