So this happened today...

Total losses include 2 RC coil cars, a Walthers PD5125, a Trainworx PD3000, and a FVM 7 post Soo Line box. Moderate damage to two additional PD5125s, two Atlas Pines 48' trailers, and two Athearn SEICO box cars.

We went out for dinner for about two hours. Donut unlocked her crate, stole a bag containing the trains from the dining room table and brought it back to her crate.

Dang it. Hopefully most can be repaired and you can figure out how to improve the kennel lock!

At least she likes trains (or they smell, taste, and crunch)!   :)  Or maybe she is trying to let you know that her crate might be getting a bit small for her?

Looks like you'll have to rename the dog "Rip Track". :D

You were able to account for all the trucks lost? If not, and not already considered, might want to keep up on the dogs "nature calls" for the next couple of days. She's big enough they'll probably get digested and passed but would hate to see a sick four legged family member  :|.

Yikes! Hope you can recover some of those cars.

My dog got a hold of a Bachmann tank car. I was more concerned about the dog in that instance...  :D

I looked at the first picture and thought  :?

Then I look at the second picture and thought  :o :scared:

Then I went back and look at the first picture, noticing the look of the dog and the scattered remains of boxes and cases (that I missed when I looked first time) and thought  :D

I smiled and laughed because it reminded me of a few years ago when my shih tzu managed to pull a boxed decorated cake I had made for a friends baby shower from the dining room table.

I hope you can salvage the cars, or work on SD452XR's idea at least.

OMG, and I thought our cats were bad....they are lightweights compared to this :o
Couple of weeks back one got locked up (my fault) in the train room and rearranged some cars and locos, but nothing like this. A mitigating factor: Donut is so cute

On second thought: who names their dog "Donut"? Maybe it was payback time? :D

Buy a pet clam . Play Ebb Tide to her and she will be happy and clam up . Kind of like a water version of a cat that is glued to her litter box . If there is ever a fire at least you will have a bite to eat .

She seems fine so far. Trucks are accounted for but the sharp clear plastic from the cases has me a bit worried. She has eaten stuff before and not had any major issues.

As for the cars... the coil cars, a PD3000, a PD5125 and the Soo Line cars are not reparable. I always saw derail loads as kitschy so they will be stripped of parts and thrown into the scrap box. The wheels, couplers, trucks and kingpins will be used on other cars.

She's just over a year old, so I'm not holding it against her. She usually goes after my WSJ, which is fine.

I was gonna say.. a few months ago.. everyone was badmouthing cats...

And I have to say.. we got a puppy 9 months ago.. and he's a moron compared to the cats.. (still love him though)..  he's laying behind me on his bed in the train room.

Anyways.. what to do..

Canned Pumpkin.. It gets the digestive system working..

Anytime he eats something he shouldn't, we give him some pumpkin.. or Science Diet I/D canned food and he passes it..

Ours decided to eat a litter scoop handle and a CD jewel case.. he passed it fine, but to be safe, we took him in for barium x-rays.

We got a crate like yours that has a door that hook locks into the body of the crate in 4 places, then locks closed, then we have a second clip to hold the lock in place.  Then zip ties around the crate to hold it together.

When we raised Bullmastiffs, we had a 2 year old male who.. ATE his way out of a metal crate like yours.. not a scratch on him.. destroyed the crate.. broke welds, bend the rods like spaghetti.. never damaged the house after that.. he was a great dog!

Cute dog!!  ~Ian

At least you know who did it.

Get her a dog bone car and deliver treats to the cage.

Lucky for you there were no engines in the bag. Or glue.
