Thank God it's over. Now the world can sleep, secure in the knowledge that Canada can't take over another US railroad.  :trollface:

I never for a minute thought the US regulators would approve such a merger.

My interest was piqued that the stated intent is to create a transcontinental railroad. Clearly the next conversation will be with NS... there ain't anybody else. :|

Yes, another. I meant there were only two candidates for CP to do it - CSX, or NS. One down, one left.

Hee hee.  I've crossed the CP mainline to Montreal probably 300 times in the last decade and only seen one train.  I think that qualifies as a branch line.  :trollface:
