These have been out a good 10 years & probably longer. They are the best Zephyr models out there. They also come lettered for all the RRs that owned them (CB&Q, D&RGW &WP). There's still quite a few of these cars in PV service on Amtrak. So no good reason not to use them if you're modeling modern times. Even if your MR is freelance you could use them for shippers specials, rail fan trips or whatever "excuse" you can think of. :)

^ That's what I thought.  My Dad bought his from a friend that had to dismantle his layout.  He had a Private Varnish company on his layout, so he could buy stuff like this (he modeled the modern UP through Nebraska), and "display" it on the layout.  Clever idea, I thought.

My Dad bought most of it off of him, and now has a Private Varnish train he runs.
