I lived in Potsdam last fall and took the route 91 or 98 most days.  There was a great beer spot and weekend market where the trams pop through at Nauener Tor that is shown in your photo.

I'd love to do a little tram layout of Potsdam, especially some of the beautiful old buildings mixed with abandoned or run down from the GDR days.  Prussian architecture with awesome graffiti!

Did some major changes to the bridge area.  Moved the turnout from the end of the bridge to the start of the bridge for a gentler curve and more space between turnouts for less fiddly track work.  I know my track laying and soldering skills aren't great, but the trains don't complain and I think a lot of the not-perfect aspects will be hidden once' it's all ballasted.

I hate doing it, but after filling around the tracks the best I could with taskboard I finally bit the bullet and slopped down some plaster.  Hope it all works out.

That is a big leap of faith. I have been at similar points and just haven't done so yet. Track is just too darn scarce at the moment for me to risk ruining what little I have.

So far so good!  Have a thick base coat of paint to seal it all up but the trains run over it fine.

It's not so bad.  I do it in short sittings where I'll carve for 5-10 min.  It's something I can always do and it gives instant results.  It's goign to take a while but I'm in no rush.  So I just cave until it's not fun then do something else.

I find painting almost worst.  I like to go over the cobbles with a bunch of different shades to make them all look unique.  That takes a while...
