Private Car Round-up

Well, the brass for mine will be going into the etchant once it warms up a bit this afternoon.  If I can get a hold of a camera before the weekend update, I'll through up some pics.

As of this moment, all of the main lines are installed and mostly operational.  There are still a few interlockings that need to be wired and hooked up to their machines.  I'm saving up some bones to put toward an 8-station accessory decoder to run them, so until that arrives, I'm slopping the points around with my index finger which is adequate for the moment.

I've scheduled an informal ops session for the end of June after the N Convention (Sunday 6/26) which would seem to be the logical time to run the OCS train.  Still not sure what power to use, we'll probably grab whatever's handy.

In the mean time, I'm going to try to get the yard up and running, and maybe fill in some of the scenery blanks to provide some new backdrops for the special.

As for the train itself, here's the ground rules:
Cars should be standard gauge passenger cars representing you, your prototype, or your home road.  
Commercially available cars should be marked in some way to identify them as yours, in the event we get a duplicate.  Include your name, address, email, and Railwire handle in the jewel box you ship the car in, along with a note as to your ID.  (i.e. green dot on the bolster pin, or something along those lines.)
Custom or private road cars shouldn't need such identifiers, but still put your name etc. in the jewel box.
Cars should have coupler height and wheel gauge checked prior to delivery to the WM. 
Wheels should be Atlas C55 friendly.
One car per contributor, either brought along by the owner that day, or packaged and shipped to me.  I assume no risk if you choose to do that.  Any cars shipped should include $5 for return shipping, $7 if you want it insured.

If you're shipping it in, allow enough time for it to arrive here by 6/20.  Return shipment will be made within 2 weeks of the ops session.

My goal is to photograph each car in the train individually in the context of the train, and to produce a video of the train circulating around the layout.  All will be available for public consumption via the usual channels.

I think that covers all the basic logistics.  At this point, individuals wishing to participate either live or via USPS can PM me here, and I'll get you all the pertinent shipping information through the back channel.

I've got experience using Eric's (seusscaboose) SP GS-4 #4449 for... How do I say it?  Oh yeah... unorthodox duty.  I'd be glad to handle the throttle, if you want to use that locomotive.  Or, Carl could run a GG1.  ;D
