Who wants a GP60?

Not me necesarilly but those that have waited will have them in their hands eventually.

FVM announced that they are working on GP60B and 60M's. The official announcement will be toward the end of the year.

Also in the announcement were Milwaukee ribside cabooses, and HO Soo 7 post boxcar and HO and N Hiawatha coaches in the additional paint schemes they carried.

Great to hear.  I'm in for a couple.

To some extent another nail in the coffin of Walthers/LL N production.
Can't model worth a darn, but can research like an SOB.

Odd that FVM is duplicating something already done (well, not the much clamored for GP60M).

But then again, something done and collecting dust is essentially not done at all.

Although, it is an odd choice. I had really hoped they'd say they were doing SD40-2s.

Not duplicating, the announcement is for GP60M's and GP60B's.  Santa Fe and BNSF modelers rejoice.

Yeah, a real tragedy. All that tooling shall continue to collect dust...

The SD40-2 would have been my guess for FVM next, but I bet they'll sell a ton of these.

Tomm, I don't think BNSF is ditching the GP60M's and GP60B's, infact they've converted one B unit to an A to test the feasibility of converting them all. A few B40-8W's work for P&W now, but so far no GP60's have been sold and it's unlikely given this conversion, unless of course it's not economical to do.

Pretty cool.  It seems Matt has a relationship with Walthers given the RD-4's so I'm betting he's picking up where they left off and they'll both use the same u/g'ed mech with DCC.  So, Walthers does the 60's, FVM does the M's and B's.  Nice arrangement if that is indeed what is happening.  Might be the only way this loco would happen.

I would love to have a GP60M and GP60B pair.   Hopefully I can fit them into the budget somehow.   May just get a B to run with my Atlas Dash 8 B's which wasn't uncommon.

Oh no, another manufacturer releasing a "Western Run" only :o

Matt should sell a ton of these, and I'll "be in" for several ATSF SuperFleets
A "western modeler" that also runs NS.

Personally, I think we can forget about the infamous "-2 Project". Chuck was screwing with our minds.

The GP60M A/B is an interesting option. I believe he would do a whole lot better with the SD40-2, heck anybody would do better....well almost anybody. I think the SD40-2 line will continue to elude us for the foreseeable future. :(

Wow! This is huge!! :o I'm in for a couple!

Of course, it also means two more kitbashes I did will soon be rendered obsolete. ::)

Here's the list of all my completed bashes made (or about to be made) obsolete by RTR models....

SD40T-2
SD75M/I
GP60M
GP60B

Kitbashes made obsolete when kitbashes were still under construction (not sure which hurts more!)...

F59PHI
Standard cab GP60's (2 of 'em)

Last and only kitbash hold out....

SW1500

This happened when I was in HO too. On example was an SP SD45T-2 I bashed numbered 9224. Athearn even made that number! ::)
