Title: Walthers Difco Dump Car Question

Are the Walthers difco cars in revenue service, or are they strictly MOW service? Thanks for any info.

Some were used in revenue service. The Milwaukee Road for example would use them from time to time. Maybe because they didn't have enough money for maintenance! A good rule of thumb is whether they were numbered for interchange or if they had an X or MOW designation in the reporting marks.
