Post by: Puddington on December 30, 2010, 02:35:12 PM
What was the normal wheel size for both light and heavyweight passenger cars ? 33 " 36 "...?

I looked through the 1940 and 1943 Car Builders books for early lightweight cars but there were no drawings with wheelsizes.  I would assume 36" unless you found otherwise.

All the drawings for the heavyweight cars had 36" wheels including a PRR baggage with 4 wheel trucks (if you wanted to use that as a gauge).

The prototype used 36" wheels on passenger equipment.
