Santa Fe all the way...
« on: September 02, 2010, 05:32:56 PM »
Where have I been all this time?
Lost enslaved, a fatal decline
I've been waiting for this to unfurl, but
Pieces aren't always as good as the whole

Severed myself from my own light
Cut out the only thing that was bright
What If I never saw you again?
I'd die right next to you in the end

A lure for the ATSF collector . I have to admit that is the most recognizable scheme , and very eye appealing . Though how applied to that loco is lousy .

It doesnt look like it says Santa Fe on the cigar-band. Makes me wonder if this is a IRL Foob (not a model Foob).

Looks like a great name for a band:

Those foreign designers stink . One ugly duckling after another . There is no paint job that can make that attractive .

Remember STRABAG is GABARTS spelled back-words .

I wish I could remember the Model Designation for these locomotives, they were built under license to  EMD and operated in if I recall Denmark,Belgium. N gauge models of this loco have been offered, not in the Santa Fe copy scheme, but original colors ,dark green with yellow striping. These locomotives are reminisent of the double ended EMD  locos in Australia roof top fan arrangement is similar, ,but Ausie locomotives have EMD Bulldog nose ,more American style side pannels and different size and height.          Nate Goodman (Nato). They are a class MY (we've recently gotten a small fleet of ex-DSB MZ's in Aus) built by EMD licensee NOHAB and my guess is they are model JT16C and JT26C (the 645E equipped units).

http://www.roundnoses.com/themes/germany.html

STRABAG is a big construction co. in germany: http://www.strabag.com/databases/internet/_public/content.nsf/Navigation?OpenAgent&docid=79E200B4108F278FC125736A0046758E

BTW did I see right that the model is from KATO?

Yes Kato did them along with the Class 66 and a Swedish electric loco.
