Athearn selectively admits errors
« on: August 29, 2010, 10:41:00 AM »
Sometimes Athearn admits to mistakes ...

It has come to our attention that we have shipped two AthearnĀ® Ready To RollĀ® items that were incorrectly painted.

The items affected include:
ATH74005 - HO RTR Cupola Cab, WAB# 2709
ATH74005 - HO RTR Cupola Cab, WAB# 2734

If you have taken delivery of these items, and are dissatisfied with their appearance, please return the product to the dealer or the online retailer for a full refund. Athearn will rerun these items and make them available for repurchase. Watch this newsletter for availability dates.

Too bad they didn't admit that they screwed up the N scale peaked end rib side hoppers ... >:(

So, besides intention, what's the diff between a foob and mistake?
Hobby - something you get goofy about to keep from going goofy about the world.

Improper lettering can be applied to foobs and correct cars alike.

I'm not sure but I think the issue was that the windows were painted over. More than just a lettering mistake.
