You have to take into consideration that Walther's secondary purpose is to sell directly to Joe Hobbyist.

Their primary purpose is to sell through to hobby shops.

I agree, there's nothing earth shaking about the offerings, but the vehicle...  Could it be that we've made ourselves enough of a mosquito that they're starting to itch a little?

I don't think they've EVER singled us out before.  I mean, we even have to share the catalog with Z scale, fer cripes sake!

Well, what with the 40 tonner, the 70 tonner, the Peter Witt trolley and several less impressive offerings, including the outrageously priced Northeast caboose, it seems to be getting harder to make the case that the big W is blowing off N scale.  The evidence would seem to show that Walthers is in fact trying to provide product to N scale.  How well they are doing it is of course another issue.

I have to say that the 70 tonner and the Peter Witt interest me more than anything anbody else has in the pipeline with a motor in it.  Being a Western Maryland wierdo, I might even swallow my pride and pick up the speed Northeast caboose, what with the special jewel case and all.

I like the idea of a N only E Flyer . I have started the process to get mine .  I sit gladly at the table and will eat anything on the menu I can't live without . I very much disliked weeding through all the wrong scale stuff . Was like going to a Chinese restaurant and have to read every others restaurant menu in the whole city . I hope enough N members sign up so this ( which is probably a test ) is worth their while .  

Many people have wanted a DCC turntable . Walther's heard them .

Nice section houses , I was unaware if them .

Any time I don't have to thumb through a pile of stuff about other scale models, I count that a plus.

The other aspect of this which appeals to me is that Walthers, by segregating their N-scale offerings from all the piles of other stuff they try to sell, should be able to see the relative imbalance in their product lines. Maybe this will increase their N-scale orders, and prompt them to produce upgraded LL items that have proved to be so popular.....
