Amtrak Superliner question...

My Kato Phase IV (not IVb) Superliners came with silver trucks; however, most pictures I can find show black trucks on these cars.

Do any of you Amtrak experts know if Kato made a mistake, is or is it a question of when the picture was taken?

If the latter, do you know when the colour changed and which way ?

They are silver when they were outshop from Beech Grove, but they do get a lot of dirt and grime and that the part of the car that does not get clean to often. Here are three pictures of the same car taken in three seperate years. You can see how dirty they get from year to year. Also most of the pictures I seen the trucks are in the shadow so its hard to tell what the real color is.

But now Amtrak has seen the light and are painting the IVb trucks in black which sucks because the new release has silver trucks.

Looks like a good coat of "earth" on whatever colour might be the way to go.
