Since
many manufacturers hang out here, this seems a better way to judge demand for something entirely new. Not so much what you might want/need, but what will you instantly fork out a real money for.
What one NEW product would get you to pull $100.00USD out of your wallet, even if it meant skipping some lunches?
For me it would be Atlas GENSETS in N, probably four or more times without ever questioning it.
If you plan on saying a product that would reasonaby cost more, like a brass giganto-normous steamer with all the bells and whistles, assume this would be your down payment and the balance would be due much sooner than later. If you would expect a $25.00USD price for, say a PC&F boxcar the rule is that you would buy four at a time to reach the price target.
I'm just thinking that this would be an interesting way to tell manufacturers what products we would really commit to. So what say y'all...
