many manufacturers hang out here, this seems a better way to judge demand for something entirely new.  Not so much what you might want/need, but what will you instantly fork out a real money for.

What one NEW product would get you to pull $100.00USD out of your wallet, even if it meant skipping some lunches?

For me it would be Atlas GENSETS in N, probably four or more times without ever questioning it.

If you plan on saying a product that would reasonaby cost more, like a brass giganto-normous steamer with all the bells and whistles, assume this would be your down payment and the balance would be due much sooner than later.  If you would expect a $25.00USD price for, say a PC&F boxcar the rule is that you would buy four at a time to reach the price target.  

I'm just thinking that this would be an interesting way to tell manufacturers what products we would really commit to.  So what say y'all...

I'll second the Genset nomination in N scale - provided it was undec and DCC ready.  Of course, for Undec I would prefer $75 if it didn't have a decoder.

For about a $100 a pop "street price"-
Small to medium sized steam locos. Preferably pre-1930's.
"Generic/catalogue designs to be "tinkered" with would be OK with me.
If very proto-specific it would be a short list used in western NY and PA. area.
BR&P,PRR,Erie mostly...
Top picks in no specific order-
4-6-0, 4-4-2, 4-8-0, and a 2-8-0 about half way in size between the two we have now. (56/57"drivers)

Wanting
my GENSETS in PHL flavour, if at all possible.  Looking at the GP15/GP35 pricing for guidance they could potentially 'street' around $100 decoder-ready and that's perfectly OK by me...

Hopefully manufacturers will take notes and actions on the projects we cant help but buy...

I hate to admit it, but after seeing them working Enola, I'd probably take one in NS to "modernize" the layout... there is something cool looking about them.

A Bachmann Northern with a WM Potomac shell from the factory.  This bash is getting to be a pain...

Or, S series switchers, which I think would be like printing money, the way we forumers carry on about them.

Or, a Baldwin road switcher AS-16 or whatever the hell they called them.

I will second and third and fourth the N scale H12-44, and would be in for at least 5-7. Atlas could do this on the VO-1000 mechanism. Can't do the Beer Line without them...not that this is the limiting factor at present.
