Actually, I have no problem ordering something from PWRS, but if it's an exclusive Exactrail should make it clear. It's only because I get PWRS's mailing that I learned they have them in stock.

I've dealt with PWRS as well, and though I find the NARC car thing annoying, have never had an issue with ordering from them (though it's been a while). See, when I order from the US, I can usually avoid the 13% sales tax, and even when I get dinged at the border the cost is usually substantially less. However with Ontario and BC getting the HST, instead of only paying the Federal 5% tax, I'll now be paying BC's 12% HST... still less than the 13% in Onterrible.

Now buying from the US and paying 0% sales tax 50% of the time is best

I just signed up with them.  Thought it kind of funny to get a phone call and go thru a 45 minute drill on how to use their site.  They do have some things sold out with other retailer.

Damn, somebody stated that EXR was using FVM wheelsets and I never even bothered to look.  That was the only reason I was willing to pay the price they were asking for the car. (I wanted a BN, and BN isn't even on BLMA's radar at this time)

Gonna try to pick up a BLMA version in ATSF, but I may wait and save my money for a third (or fourth) number on the spine cars.  The spines look outstanding at "O-scale" on the website so I imagine they will be awesome.

You're lucky.  If you live on the other side of the continent, they ding you for high shipping charges even though they ship U.S. orders from Washington State and use either UPS or USPS Priority Mail.  If they have something I want that no one else has, I'll buy it but I don't go to them as a primary source.

Anybody get one of these yet?

Any clue how Exactrail decides what gets metal wheels or not?  I thought maybe they would become standard after the 4000's but the gon has plastic wheels.  They don't appear to have a "Signature/Platinum/Evolution" series in N like the do in HO.

I got some of the TTX and CSXT ones today and its a nice car. No metal wheels, so I quickly change them to FVM wheels and the Hay Bros loads for the LBF/E&C/Hubers fit. Compare to the LBF car, thisare much better in every way. Here are some pictures for comparison.

Got mine from Chuck today...only opened one up (TTX) since it has been silly crazy at the office.


First thoughts:

They feel hefty (good)
Nice detailing (except for the molded grabs)
The trucks are very close to then end, this may pose an issue for body mounting. (prob not but close to my eye)
Paint looks crisp but I will strip most of them.

Just picked up a few. I am very pleased, perhaps as pleased as I have ever been with a freight car.

When that MR survey comes out for N scale rolling stock product of the year, I am voting for these.  Great paint, and they feel like the bulky modern gondolas. I thought the Atlas would look like that but only these gons are massive enough to feel like the modern prototypes.

They weigh in at an ounce empty. I gather they should be about 1.1 oz to meet NMRA standards but they are among the heaviest gons ever. With a load they are right there, or I might add a few small weights with A line lead sheets trimmed to fit inthe underbody cavaties.

Great job exact rail! This is a real treat for us modern modelers.
