New Bachmann Announcements
« on: February 16, 2010, 12:38:38 PM »
Just found out about these nothing earth shattering. More EZ Track, some new sets. An 1890's B&O 4-4-0, non spectrum 4-8-4's for Santa Fe and Rock Island. They are doing a couple of PCC trolleys for Cincinnati and Kansas City. The UP DD40AX is back w/new numbers. They are redoing some Conmsolidations w/DCC for C&O, UP, WM and Santa Fe.

BUT

We are getting some more 44 tonners. B&M Minuteman Logo, D&RGW and US Army.

As I mentioned in an earlier post from Springfield; I asked the B-man rep at the Bachman booth
and he said to watch for some more roadnames and coupler improvements on the 44's.
I mentioned the B&M Minuteman at Hartford and Springfield.
For once my waiting it out pays off!

Not yet. I think these are in conjunction with the NY Toy Fair where they usually announce stuff. It should show up in Walthers Product announcements soon.

I wonder if the new WM Connie will have a different road number...  They did that when they transitioned from the first generation drive to the DCC ready...

The B&O 4-4-0 in Royal Blue colors has been listed for a while. Waiting on one my self. The DCC Consolidations sounds interesting, wish there was a new B&O number. As Lee mentioned, I wonder if the C&O and WM will be new numbers. Also, decoder in the tender or in the loco??? It it is in the tender, new frame or not? It will help eliminate the weak link of the loco's, the push clip frame contacts either way.

What are the 4-8-4's? The same Santa Fe 4-8-4 or something new?

A Cincinnati trolley will have to be on the list, just because.

Of course more 44T road names are good. Army sounds interesting.

Is this the same ole 4-4-0 that we all know and love or something new from Spectrum?

Same old loco, new paint, as far as I know. I have the original B&O version and it really runs pretty good after a decent amount of break in. I need to end up with some of the Athearn/MDC 34' cars to pull behind them.

The one I have really doesn't run bad at all. I did put a little 3M Microfine polish on the gears during break in.

I'm sure the 4-8-4's are not Spectrum loco's.

A little bit of Colgate does the same thing ;)

Interestingly I posted a pic of the VGN 44 tonner over on the "ask the bach man" forum and the Bmann actually cited that it was the wrong phase! Never thought I'd hear that from Bachmann!
