This is a cool release! (no pun intended)
These cars are pushing it for me...at the end of my era, but that seems to be pushing a little further out at every opportunity anyway so whadayado? I bought the Mocalova conversions, too but never got that far with the project. BNSF actually converted one of the bigger cryo cars (like the Walthers model) for Nestle Foods around the same time they did the R-70-20 type cars and I have started that conversion.
I wanted one of the ARMN cars because they have bright red LED temperature indicators installed and they were very prominent on the cars early on. I'm not sure if they are still installed or what but they don't seem to be visible as much anymore. Maybe they decided to only have them come on during certain conditions, dunno. But regardless I thought that would be a nice touch to have a very low brightness red LED installed and piped out.
The era on these cars is very modern.....2001/2002 for the ARMN cars and I think BNSF did their conversions (and not nearly on the scale UP did) a year or two prior, (2000-ish...haven't quite nailed down the date yet) before scrapping the idea in favor of the big gigantic potato palace icecicle-scheme cars they bought. From the supplied link it appears that the NRDX cars are much later still.
I'm in for one BNSF and one ARMN, can't wait!
