I made the Grassinator version, but changed the handle to have a 90 deg elbow about 3-4 inches up so I could get in between the 2 levels easier. Am using WS flock, although I just rec'd some Scenic Express flock to try.

I first put down a layer of 50/50 white glue and spread it around really good. Then just start grassin'. In some spots the glue puddles, so I have to hit it a second pass to cover.

I made my screen from some screen door wire. I tried some smaller screen material first, but hardly no flocking came out. Are you getting lots of material coming out and just not sticking?

I've got the 'lower' power version... and am using a metal kitchen strainer.   I'm wondering if my base glue layer is just too thin, and the grass ends up laying down too quickly.   I need to do more experimenting.

The Grassinator is an awesome thing and only about $24.00.

I'm thinking it may be the "lower power version". Even if you have hardly no glue, you should see the flocking fall and try to stand up. I have a some that gets pulled back thru the air to the screen. Is the ground wire good? If mine becomes corroded, it doesn't work so good.

Another thing to try after you get your layer down, is to do the old "rub a balloon on your head and then draw the charged balloon over the static grass" trick.  Of course if you are follicly challenged you may have a problem.  ;D

My wife saw the pack of balloons hanging off of the peg board in the shop and had the audacity to ask me what I used them for.  Unfortunately for her I told the truth.

She thinks I've lost my mind.

Got quite a bit in the DCC department done. Got 2 BDL168's wired up and went live on the layout with Train Controller from RR&Co. Pretty neat to have some in the way trains running automatically. Now to just close the loop on the layout so I can get some traffic rolling on this main line!

Got my Custom Model Railroads city station and concourse in the mail yesterday and I spent all day building the basic structure. All I need to do now is prime, paint the walls and windows and then start working on the interior. I am very impressed with the kit and will be buying all their other N scale city structures. I also talked to them at the Springfield show and they will be coming out with more N scale city structures and also some impressive industries.

Hurray!  I've built a couple of their kits, and I really like them.  I'm looking forward to the Park Hotel, and I'm hoping that they're planning on bringing more of their HO scale skyscrapers to N scale.  I've got a skyline to fill!

last time I used it on a module I was helping out on...WS static seems to be a bit big and
clumpy for N.

dang.. I can't find the plans online for this anymore.  There's a way to crank up the power, bypassing a certain capacitor or something...   Anyone have the plans lying around?

I'd recommend the other version though now that they found a new 12v source for the ion generators.
