I motorized a crossover .. used the technique in the current RMJ for using one Tortoise for driving 2 turnouts .. works well

I made a little more progress on the Milwaukee ten wheeler bash yesterday.
The tapered portion of the original Pacific shell was much too long so I scratched a new one. The overall dimensions are pretty close. Only about 3 scale inches over.
It's on to rearranging the running boards and side details now.



Here's a shot comparing the ten wheeler to a stock Atlas/RR 2-8-2 shell.

I worked on the river surface for the Peace River.  No messy epoxy resins for me.  I painted the masonite river surface and used liquitex acrylic gel medium for the water texture.

Do tell! Any pictures? Always wanted to figure that out. I assume some sort of mechanical linkage? Will have to pick up a RMJ I guess.

I finally just about got my feeders soldered and am in the process of checking locomotives out to make sure they all work!!!!
I've got probably close to 50 locomotives and so far have checked 11 and they work, Thats this risk you take collecting for so long
without a layout. Hope I did'nt give good feedback for a bad locomotive!!! :o. Next is the DCC system and bus wires. Then the fun
part structures and scenery!!! 8)

Thanks. Between the trailers and cars you've been posting for the last couple of weeks, I waited until Monday to post anything. Those cars are just WOW.

I had been just putting in Supertrees until I realized the other day that winter is not devoid of any color, just most of it. There's still lots of pines (around here) and I tried adding in some with green foam. I still have the non-colored  tree trunks to deal with, but have 1 more thing I want to try.

The flat area is now grassed and I'll try to get an updated pic.

They look really good, a man after my own heart... although you might want to hit the "nekkid" ones with some gray spray paint, then mist on just a touch of brown. That's been my technique.
