AZL New Release Preview Photo
« on: April 04, 2009, 12:02:01 PM »
AZL is preparing to release quite a few new items this year. I have been given the okay to post this photo. It shows preproduction test shots of the auto-racks and ACF 4-Bays hoppers. These photos are not of the final cars, but I think you agree, with the printing, they look great!  The SOO line ACF 3-Bay hoppers will be release in the next month.

The hoppers may very well find a home on my layout, but the autoracks will get passed on.They are nice looking cars but I simply do not have enough layout for them.  :(

Then I would need a bigger car to haul it in. ::)

Great photo Mike! I can't wait to get the autoracks. I plan on running them in unit trains on our Z modules. I love the look of long trains running on the layout and the autoracks will really stand out.

I am with you guys on the Soo Line cars. They are going to be excellent! Of course, I am looking forward to seeing these get Tom's treatment.  ;D

Yeah, and if I buy the H1 geep, then the hood width with also match the pending MTL SD40-2 for this train, eh?   ;)

See my other thread for Gp35 adventures... still trying to decide if I want any more MTL GP's or if I just wait for AZL GP38's.  Unfortunantly it will likely be a long time before someone does a scale SD40-2*, but maybe AZL will think about it.

*edit: in plastic!  :D

Mike, I do have a Rogue GP38 shell running on a MTL GP35 chassis. The fit is very tight, and the chassis is a little short, but it looks the part.
