Great looking layout Mark.  The scene changes left me a bit dizzy ;), but I love the BIG scenes and the scale speed running. Very effective!

You might want to consider starting a separate thread to highlight your progress.

Well...

My name is Chris Lawson.. I model N scale.. Norfolk Western/NS/CSX that I grew up watching as a kid... I like to use a ... after everything I say... lol I currently reside in Greensboro NC.. but I have lived Knoxville TN.. Spartanburg SC, and my hometown Martinsville VA. When I lived in Knoxville I was a member of KAMR (Knoxville Area Model Railroaders). I feel privileged to say I got to model and run trains with Phil Brooks... of which when I was first starting out he gave me tons of knowledge in N scale... as well as when I started weathering he mentioned a name to look up to gets ideas.. (way back in 2003) of course that name was Tom Mann...  I currently work in the Information Services department at Moses Cone Hospital. Things to know about me outside of model railroading... I have a daughter who is 6 and 1 on the way... I love playing guitar, and I am a HUGE UNC Tar Heels fan... anyway enough rambling...

I am glad to be a part of this great forum of modelers..

Welcome Chris. Although I can hardly claim to be an expert, my in-laws live in Bassett, VA, and I get down there at least twice a year and I hurry out to railfan the area when I get there. I haven't done much looking around in Martinsville, but I have followed some of the line down to Greensboro. I would loved to have been around during the textile hay days to have seen the many, many trains servicing the area. Sadly, mostly what I see are the coal unit trains running around. Better then nothing I supose, just boring.

Hey there guys!

I'm a newbie to this forum and quite honestly a newbie to N scale as a whole. I honestly started purchasing some N scale stuff about 2 yrs ago as a way to kill some boredom that I had while I couldnt really do too much with my G scale outdoors.  Since that point Ive still been buying stuff ( all different mind you) to get something going.  I essentially have a BNSF coal drag and a sort of "local" road freight at this moment.  I have a basic table with honestly a loop of track at home but I havent finished it yet.

I'm also on the Board of the Conrail Historical Society so I know quite a few people already here ( ED!).

I have a pretty extensive outdoor G scale layout with about 100+ or so cars/locos and im slowly making my way to the same amount in N.  I love the space my N scale doesnt take up though its great!!

Welcome Kevin!  IT's all Ed's fault I'm here as well, so don't worry.  It might actually buy you some sympathy from the guys . . . for an hour or two.  Looking forward to your N scale progress.

New guy here.. I've been on Trainboard for awhile.

I'm in the central valley of CA. Modeling some of the Vernon district of the Los Angeles Junction railway.

Hey! I registered a while ago, but never got around to posting. I model in N scale, and am currently torn between picking a prototype to model. Being a born and raised Minnesotan I’m mostly interested in railroads in the state, though some Canadian roads are tempting. It helps that I have a preference for modern shortlines and regionals, but it’s still a hard call. So more research and soul-searching is required, no point in making a hasty decision right? ;D

If I ever get around to serious modeling (ha! not likely for awhile) I’ll keep you guys posted.

Well Canada's newest roundhouse is a two storey structure:
